Arabic Coffee Martini
Arabic coffee, cardamom and orange blossom give this creamy coffee cocktail a distinctly aromatic direction. This home adaptation follows the ingredients described on the Beiruty menu without claiming to reproduce the restaurant’s formula. Brew the coffee strongly and strain away the grounds before chilling it; warm coffee would melt the shaking ice too quickly. Baileys supplies sweetness and a soft texture, while vodka keeps the coffee and spice clear. A very small amount of orange blossom water is enough to perfume the drink without overwhelming its roasted character.

Ingredients
- 30 ml Tito’s vodka
- 30 ml Baileys Irish Cream
- 30 ml strong brewed Arabic coffee, finely strained and cooled
- 1 small pinch ground cardamom, about 1/32 tsp
- 5 ml simple syrup (1:1 sugar and water by weight)
- 1/8 tsp food-grade orange blossom water
- 150 g ice cubes
- For homemade simple syrup: 20 g granulated sugar and 20 ml warm water (makes about 30 ml; measure only the syrup quantity listed above)
Method
If making the syrup, stir 20 g sugar into 20 ml warm water until completely dissolved. Cool for 5 minutes, then measure the quantity specified in the ingredients; reserve the unused syrup separately. Ready-made 1:1 simple syrup can be used instead.
Brew and finely strain the coffee; let it cool completely for approximately 10 minutes. Chill a small coupe in the refrigerator.
Measure the vodka, Baileys, cooled coffee, cardamom, syrup and orange blossom water into a cocktail shaker.
Add the ice, close the shaker and shake firmly for 12–15 seconds until the metal feels cold.
Strain through a fine sieve into the chilled coupe and serve immediately.
Make it your own.
- Use unsweetened coffee so the liqueur and measured syrup control the sweetness.
- Do not add coffee grounds as a garnish; they leave a gritty finish.
